As a tribute to its humble and historic beginnings, the P226 40th Anniversary model resembles the original handgun that SIG SAUER developed in 1984 to compete in the XM9 Service Pistol Trials.

The 40th Anniversary P226 pays homage to the MK25, which was adopted by the Navy SEALs and DEVGRU in 1989, complete with original packaging, a user manual, and a limited-edition brochure detailing the history of the P226. The P226 continued its legacy when it was adopted for training courses by the FBI, as well as by numerous law enforcement agencies and international military organizations. Forty years, dozens of models—including the P226 LEGION—and hundreds of Hollywood films later, the P226 remains one of the most iconic SIG SAUER pistols in our more than 250-year history.

Featuring the same characteristics as the original, the 40th-anniversary P226 is a pistol with an aluminum frame, double-stack magazine, 15+1 capacity, DA/SA trigger system, and a 4.4-inch barrel.
