Walther PPQ M2 .22 LR

With the PPQ 22, WALTHER is introducing a small-caliber version of its existing large-caliber PPQ pistol, available in both 4-inch and 5-inch models. The PPQ-M2 family (M2 for the side-mounted magazine release) is available in 9 mm Luger and .22 LR calibers.

The small-caliber versions also feature magazine release buttons that can be switched from left to right and a ambidextrous slide stop that can be easily reached even while wearing gloves.

Wide grooves at the front and rear of the slide facilitate reloading. With the front sight adjustable for elevation and windage, all the conditions for precise shooting are met here as well. The trigger’s consistent resistance from shot to shot, combined with its short 4-mm travel, also contributes to tight groupings. The loaded-round indicator ensures increased safety at the shooting range.

Small-caliber versions of popular large-caliber firearms are trending worldwide. They offer the same ergonomics as their full-size counterparts, feature identical controls, and are therefore ideal for cost-effective training—allowing for higher round counts than, for example, 9 mm or .45 ACP. Compatible duty or competition holsters designed for the M2 family can also be used with the PPQ 22.

Last but not least, .22 Long Rifle cartridges cost only a fraction of the price of the original ammunition, which is likely to be an important selling point, especially for youth programs.

The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) and the Federation of German Sport Shooters (BDS) have long offered their action competitions with their own small-caliber class. Other sport shooting associations are also embracing these affordable yet challenging new small-caliber disciplines. Conclusion: With the two versions of the new WALTHER PPQ 22, dedicated shooters can practice more—and thus more effectively—at a lower cost!

• Plastic grip, anodized aluminum slide

• Textured loading grooves at the front and rear of the slide

• Picatinny rail in front of the trigger (MIL-STD 1913) for (where legally permitted) accessories such as a flashlight or laser

• Height- and side-adjustable sights

• Front sight made of polymer (4 inches) or light-gathering fiberglass (5 inches)

• Trigger with consistent, low resistance of 2,200 g and a minimal trigger travel of just 4 mm

• Integrated magazine capacity indicator

• Extended, ambidextrous slide stop lever, operable even while wearing gloves

• Side magazine release button, convertible to the right

• Two independent safeties: automatic firing pin safety and mechanical drop safety, integrated into the trigger blade

• Special version PPQ 22 Tactical with a 4.6-inch silencer barrel and 1/2"-28 TPI thread
