FEG Defense (Fegyver- és Gépgyár) is a long-established Hungarian company that has played a significant role in the production of weapons and machinery since its founding in 1891. FEG originally made a name for itself as a supplier to the Hungarian armed forces and exported a wide variety of firearms, including various pistol models such as the Frommer Stop and PA-63. Some of FEG’s pistols, which were based on popular international designs—such as the Browning Hi-Power—became particularly famous.
After the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in the 1990s, the market changed, and FEG faced economic challenges. Nevertheless, the company was modernized through reorganization and investment and now focuses on the production of firearms that meet current international standards. In its current form, FEG once again manufactures handguns, combining traditional manufacturing techniques with modern standards and relying on the renowned “Made in Hungary” quality.
