B&T SPC9 G Self-Loading Carbine MP

The SPC9 G is a 9mm self-loading carbine that combines many of the features of the APC9, the MP5, and common AR weapon platforms. It offers excellent handling, accuracy, and safety, as well as very moderate recoil thanks to its innovative hydraulic buffer.

The most innovative aspect of the SPC9 G weapon family is that it can be configured by the user according to their preferences, e.g., to accommodate Glock or SIG 320 magazines. This offers flexibility, cost savings, and interoperability among team members.

Hybrid Design

The SPC9 G firearm family is a truly hybrid design requested by an end customer. A police department in Europe needed a 9mm carbine with the same handling and ergonomic characteristics as the AR platform. The reason for this was, first, the cost savings of the 9mm cartridge compared to the .300BLK or the 5.56 cartridge. The second reason was that the bullet trap at the existing shooting range was not designed for rifle ammunition, and only pistol ammunition is permitted. The solution was a 9mm caliber firearm for training.

Some of these features of the SPC9 G are time-tested, while others represent state-of-the-art technology. It’s an interesting blend of different designs and philosophies. The 3-lug interface on the barrel for suppressors or muzzle attachments has been proven for decades. B&T has been manufacturing suppressors for this very interface for nearly thirty years and believes it is still the best 9mm SMG suppressor mounting system on the market.

Two Different Reloading Levers

Another distinctive feature of the SPC9 PDW is that it features two different, independently arranged loading levers. One is the classic AR tension lever at the rear of the receiver; the other is a non-rotating, foldable loading lever at the front of the handguard. Both loading mechanisms can be operated completely independently of one another.

Stock and Grip

The SPC9’s telescoping stock and pistol grip are AR-compatible. The stock can be adjusted to six different positions. The weapon comes standard with the slim B&T pistol grip but can be replaced by the user with any other type of aftermarket product. This includes Magpul, BCM, or any other OEM manufacturer on the market.

NAR and M-LOK Systems

The firearm features both a NAR and an M-LOK system for mounting lights, lasers, scopes, shell catchers, and grips. The NARs are located at the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock positions, while the M-LOK rails can be mounted on the sides. The SPC9 comes standard with 2 M-LOK rails.

The Lower Receiver

The lower receiver, or grip, is another feature derived from the APC9 firearm family. It is the same design used in the U.S. Army’s SCW project, which B&T adopted for the APC9K. This grip is designed for use with B&T’s proven polymer magazines.

The lower receiver can be swapped out in seconds for a variant that accommodates either Glock or SIG 320 (or US M17/M19) magazines. The Glock variant is designed to also fit the short magazines of the Glock 26.

The Red Dot Sight

All SPC 9 models come equipped with an Aimpoint T1 as the primary sight. The Aimpoint is virtually indestructible and has been proven in 100,000 rounds of testing. Battery life is 5 years on the medium setting.

The mechanical flip-up sight included in the package can be used in “co-witness” mode with the mounted Aimpoint.

Technical Details

The firearm features several unique characteristics not found on other platforms and not visible from the outside:

The cold-hammered forged barrel, combined with heat treatment, delivers outstanding accuracy. When the first production batch was test-fired, all firearms achieved group sizes of less than 50 mm at a 30-meter range.

The trigger system complies with EU standards. This means that all operations can be performed with the firearm on safety.

Shooters perceive the recoil as very moderate thanks to the hydraulic buffer system.

The standard SPC9 is also “EU-compliant” and meets the requirements of the Firearms Directive (EU) 2017/853.

The firearm can also be supplied with a 10-round magazine.

The SPC 9 is manufactured exclusively as a semi-automatic firearm.
