FN-509 Tactical

The FN 509® Tactical is a consistent evolution of the proven FN 509 series. It is based on the pistol model that FN submitted for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun Trials, while also incorporating the key design improvements that were implemented in the FN 509.

Equipped with the company’s Low-Profile Optics Mounting System™, the pistol allows for easy installation of more than ten commonly available red dot sights. These can seamlessly co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights and also provide future-proof compatibility for upcoming optics generations—without the need for complex slide milling.

When no optic is in use, a specially designed cover plate with raised protective wings reliably shields the iron sights from damage, such as impacts or drops. It also features a textured ramp that facilitates racking the slide against a belt, pocket, or boot.

The upper assembly is complemented by a high-quality 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel with a target crown. The ½”-28 thread is compatible with most commercially available 9mm suppressors. A thread protector with an integrated O-ring ensures it does not loosen unintentionally, even during intensive use.

The package is rounded out by high-capacity 24-round magazines, which, despite their capacity, are nearly the same length as the slide, offering an optimal balance between firepower and carry comfort.
