LMT Defense New Zealand Reference Rifle

This is the most authentic civilian counterpart to the New Zealand MARS-L rifle. This semi-automatic reference model includes all essential features in accordance with the original specifications, including:

This is the latest and most advanced version of a modern M4 system.

LMT® developed this rifle based on its patented Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP®)—the only true monolithic rail platform, milled from a single piece of high-strength aluminum. Two locking screws mounted on the sides of the receiver securely fasten the barrel extension. MRP® technology ensures 360-degree contact with the barrel extension and enables tool-free barrel changes in seconds—with minimal point-of-impact shift. A single receiver can be combined with barrels of varying lengths, calibers, and materials.

The CQB upper receiver features a 16.25-inch Picatinny rail at the 12 o’clock position, as well as 8-inch rails on the left and right and a 7-inch rail on the bottom. Thanks to its one-piece construction, it offers maximum stability and precision—ideal for modern operational requirements.

The MRP® barrels use a low-profile gas block with a straight gas tube. They feature a special coating and are cryogenically treated to ensure maximum service life.

The MARS®-L lower receiver, which is ambidextrous, features a EDM-machined two-stage trigger, an enlarged winter trigger guard, a butt plate with a QD sling swivel, the ergonomically textured LMT® grip, and the SOPMOD cheek rest. Ambidextrous controls include the bolt catch/release, magazine release, and safety. As with all LMT® lower receivers, the buffer tube is coated with a dry lubricant film.
