Operating principle of the MSBS GROT

The Grot 14 FB-M1 is a semi-automatic rifle with a single-action (SA) trigger mechanism. The weapon’s automatic operation is activated by diverting powder gases through a side opening in the barrel, which acts on a short-stroke piston and thus drives the bolt. The rifle is locked by rotating the bolt, which features symmetrical locking lugs that withstand the pressure inside the barrel. This system is characterized by smooth operation and reduced fouling of the moving parts. The gas block includes a regulator that allows for shooting with a silencer or for shutting off the gas supply.
