DDM4 Hunter 6.8 (Kryptek Highlander)

Precise, rugged, and powerful: The Hunter series from Daniel Defense combines Daniel Defense’s proven designs and perfectly adapts them to the needs of modern hunters. With an 18-inch cold-hammered barrel and modern SPEC II chamber dimensions, the Hunter 6.8 offers reliable operation with higher cartridge pressures. The barrel and mid-length gas system are protected by the MFR 15.0 free-float handguard. Featuring a full-length Picatinny rail on top and M-LOK mounting points on the sides and bottom, the handguard provides ample space for any accessories that might be needed while hunting.

The barrel features a 5/8x24 TPI thread and is fitted with a knurled thread protector that can be easily removed if a suppressor or other muzzle device is to be attached. The Hunter 6.8 comes standard with a Geissele Super Semi-Automatic 2-stage trigger and an ambidextrous safety selector. The independent, ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP charging handle allows for operation by both left- and right-handed shooters. The Hunter 6.8 is equipped with the ergonomic Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip and features a striking hydro-dipped Kryptek Highlander camouflage pattern.

Materials & Construction

Lower Receiver: Mil-Spec with extended magazine well and rear QD swivel mounting point. CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum.

Upper Receiver: Mil-Spec with index marks and M4 feed ramps. CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum.

Barrel: Chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel, cold-hammered, 1:11 twist, 18" S2W profile, mid-length gas system, chrome-plated, Mil-Spec heavy-phosphated, HP/MPI tested.

Gas system: Low-profile gas block, CNC-machined from 4140 hardened steel, Mil-Spec heavy phosphate finish, mid-length, direct-impingement.

Thread protector: 12L14 steel, salt bath nitrided.

Bolt Carrier Group: M16 profile, chrome-plated, gas key correctly notched.

Buffer: H-buffer.

Sights: Sold separately.

Handguard: Daniel Defense MFR 15.0, CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, M-LOK mounting.

Charging handle: GRIP-N-RIP, CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, grips and latch made of 6061-T6 aluminum, stainless steel roll pins, Type III hard anodized.

Receiver Extension: 6-position Mil-Spec 7075-T6 aluminum.

Buttstock: Daniel Defense buttstock, polymer with soft-touch coating.

Pistol Grip: Daniel Defense pistol grip, polymer with soft-touch coating.

Finish: Kryptek Highlander.
