Daniel Defense DD4 RIII S | 11.5? - 5.56mm NATO

The AR15-style DD4 RIII S features a fully ambidextrous lower receiver that allows both left- and right-handed shooters to operate the bolt catch, safety lever, and magazine release without having to take their dominant hand off the rifle’s grip. The GRIP-N-RIP loading lever is also fully ambidextrous. A 10.5-inch RIS III rail—inspired by the revolutionary two-piece RIS II handguard developed for SOCOM—features M-LOK mounting points for reduced weight and surrounds a free-floating, cold-hammered 11.5-inch Government Profile barrel. In addition to the improved control provided by the ambidextrous lower receiver, this subcompact rifle offers optimal maneuverability, reliability, accuracy, and ballistic efficiency across a wide range of ammunition types. The carbine-length gas system ensures smooth, reliable cycling under harsh conditions and reduces perceived recoil. This rifle also comes equipped with the ergonomic Daniel Defense stock and pistol grip.

MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION

LOWER RECEIVER: Fully ambidextrous Mil-Spec with an improved funnel magazine and rear receiver QD pivot. CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type III hard-anodized.

UPPER: Mil-Spec with index marks and M4 feed ramps. CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type III hard-anodized.

BARREL: Chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel, cold-hammered, 1:7 twist, 11.5-inch Government profile, chrome-plated, Mil-Spec heavy phosphated, and HP/MPI tested.

GAS SYSTEM: Low-profile, riveted gas block, CNC-machined from hardened 4140 steel and Mil-Spec heavy phosphated, carbine length, direct impingement.

MUZZLE DEVICE: Daniel Defense flash suppressor, 17-4 PH stainless steel, salt-bath nitride finish.

BOLT: M16 profile, Mil-Spec MP-tested, chrome-plated, properly locked gas key.

BUFFER: H-buffer.

SIGHTS: Sold separately.

HANDGUARD: RIS III 10.5, CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, Flat Dark Earth Type III hard-anodized.

LOADING HANDLE: GRIP-N-RIP loading lever, housing CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, grips and latch CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, high-performance stainless steel roll pins, Type III hard-anodized.

RECEIVER EXTENSION: 6-position Mil-Spec 7075-T6 aluminum.

STOCK: Daniel Defense stock, glass-fiber-reinforced polymer with a soft-touch coating.

PISTOL GRIP: Daniel Defense pistol grip, glass-fiber-reinforced polymer with a soft-touch coating.
