Daniel Defense DD4 RIII 16"

The AR15-style DD4 RIII ambidextrous rifle was designed to meet the needs of both right- and left-handed shooters in popular shooting sports as well as for tactical and defensive applications. The fully ambidextrous lower receiver allows the shooter to operate the bolt catch, safety switch, and magazine release without having to remove their dominant hand from the rifle’s grip, while the GRIP-N-RIP loading handle is also fully ambidextrous.

A 12.5-inch lightweight RIS III rail—modeled after the revolutionary two-piece RIS II handguard developed for SOCOM—features an M-LOK mounting system for reduced weight while also allowing for the attachment of the M203 grenade launcher.

It surrounds a 16-inch cold-forged Government-profile barrel, and our medium-length gas system—known for smoother recoil—contributes to this rifle’s accuracy by enabling rapid yet precise burst fire. This rifle also comes with the ergonomic Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip.

Lower: Fully ambidextrous Mil-Spec with an extended, flared magazine well and a QD swivel mount on the rear receiver. CNC-milled from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type III hard-anodized

Upper: Mil-Spec with indexing marks and M4 feed ramps. CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type III hard-anodized

Barrel: Chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel, cold-forged, 1:7 twist, 16" Government profile, medium-length gas system, chrome-plated, Mil-Spec Heavy Phosphate Coated, and HP/MPI-tested

Gas system: Pinned low-profile gas block, CNC-milled from hardened 4140 steel with Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coating, medium-length, direct impingement

Muzzle Brake: Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor, 17-4 PH stainless steel, salt bath nitride-coated

Bolt: M16 profile, Mil-Spec MP tested, chrome-plated, properly stacked gas key

Buffer: H-Buffer

Handguard: RIS III 12.5", CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, M-LOK mounting, Flat Dark Earth Type III hard-anodized
