North East Defence Industry (NEDI) offers a civilian version of the AK47-S, or the Chinese Type 56 variant. These affordable rifles are very well-finished and free of any sharp edges. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a Kalashnikov with a better price-to-performance ratio.

Like the AKM, the receiver is made using a stamped sheet metal process, but the barrel mount is machined from a solid piece of steel. The NEDI series is highly compatible with most aftermarket parts, such as Magpul, FAB, Midwest Ultimak, etc.

This makes it the ideal starting point for your custom builds.

The S version comes with a folding steel stock.
