North East Defense Industry (NEDI) offers a civilian version of the AK-47, or rather the Chinese Type 56 variant. These affordable rifles are, however, very well-finished and free of any sharp edges. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a Kalashnikov with a better price-to-performance ratio.

Like the AKM, the receiver is made using a stamped sheet metal process, but the barrel mount is crafted from a solid, milled piece of steel. The NEDI series is highly compatible with most aftermarket parts, such as Magpul, FAB, Midwest Ultimak, and others.

This makes it the ideal starting point for your custom builds.

This model comes with the classic laminated wood stock, which houses the cleaning kit, whereas the S version has a folding steel stock.
