A properly tightened mount is crucial for the precise installation of a rifle scope on a rail system or receiver. Adhering to the manufacturer’s torque specifications ensures that the rifle scope is securely attached to the firearm.

Overtightening the rings is the most common cause of damage to the riflescope. Most riflescope rings are made of steel, while riflescope tubes are made of aluminum. Always follow the manufacturer’s torque specifications exactly so you never crush a riflescope again.

When adding accessories or changing/upgrading the stock, lightly tighten the fasteners according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Properly tightening the screws that secure the stock to the barrel ensures safe and precise operation.
