The Super Reaction Rod was developed for advanced gunsmiths who frequently work with 5.56/.223 caliber rifles that have over-tightened, seized, or loosened barrel nuts.

The Super Reaction Rod works by pre-tensioning the barrel nut extension against the lugs of the Super Reaction Rod to eliminate any movement before applying torque to the barrel nut, while simultaneously securing the upper receiver in place. When the barrel nut extension is connected to the tabs on the Super Reaction Rod and the upper receiver is secured before applying torque, any potential stress that could be exerted on the index pin is avoided. This allows the gunsmith to apply tremendous torque to the barrel nut. The Super Reaction Rod’s preload system can also be removed, allowing it to function like a standard reaction rod, which enables 360° rotation of the upper receiver in both the vertical and horizontal directions.
