Geissele AR10/SR25 Reaction Rod

The reaction rod (7.62/.308) significantly facilitates and simplifies the installation and removal of barrels, muzzle brakes, gas blocks, and handguards. The reaction rod is designed to be clamped in a vise so that the rod is positioned either horizontally or vertically. The upper receiver is then slid onto the rod, and the rod’s integrated teeth engage with the barrel extension, securing it against rotation. In this way, the entire torque from barrel nut wrenches can be directed directly into the barrel extension. In contrast, receiver vise blocks transfer the torque into the aluminum receiver, with a large portion of it passing through the small, easily deformable receiver index pin. With the Geissele reaction rod, the surface of the upper receiver is no longer damaged by gripping and twisting in the vise blocks, and it is also no longer necessary to remove sights and mounts from the receiver’s M1913 rail.
