The Daniel Defense Rail Interface System (RIS II) was developed at the request of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II program. SOCOM had a specific requirement for a free-floating M203 solution, and Daniel Defense responded by developing a revolutionary product to meet the government’s requirements. The Daniel Defense RIS II allows the individual operator to mount the M203 grenade launcher in a free-floating configuration without any additional parts. Equally important, no special tools are required to mount the M203 grenade launcher. This was achieved by integrating all parts necessary for mounting the M203 directly into the rail itself. The Daniel Defense RIS II is designed for use with the MK12 Low Profile Gas Block.
