Daniel Defense Carbine Barrel, 1:7, GOV 12.5"

The Daniel Defense 12.5" barrel in 5.56 NATO is the most accurate and durable barrel you can get for your AR-15 build. This Mil-Spec barrel was fretted from cold-hammer-forged 4150 chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel and was subsequently phosphate-coated and chrome-plated.

The cold-hammer-forging process for barrels has been known for decades to produce the most accurate and durable rifle barrels. In cold-hammer forging, intense hydraulic pressure is applied by carbide hammers striking from opposite directions. During the forging process, a mandrel is inserted into the barrel, and the carbide hammers shape the barrel around the mandrel, thereby forming the chamber as well as the lands and grooves. In addition to these advantages, the cold-hammer process ensures a flawless barrel profile and a uniform chamber.

All cold-hammer-forged barrels from Daniel Defense are manufactured entirely at the company’s own state-of-the-art facility in Black Creek, GA. In keeping with their tradition of never compromising, all cold-hammer-forged barrels feature a forged chamber and a heavy phosphate-coated or salt-bath nitrided exterior finish. These barrels are significantly more accurate and durable than barrels with cut or button-drilled barrel profiles.
