The ELCAN SpecterDR 1x/4x Dual Role Optical Sight represents a revolution in the development of optical sights. It is the world’s first true dual-field-of-view optical sight. The SpecterDR 1x/4x instantly switches from 4x magnification to a 1x close-quarters combat view with a simple flip of a side-mounted lever that can be operated from either side. The SpecterDR 1x/4x features an optimized optical path and the same eye relief in both 1x and 4x modes. Since the model was optimized, every Elcan is also shipped with a fixed Picatinny rail on the housing for mounting red dot sights.

In 1x mode, the SpecterDR 1x/4x has by far the largest field of view of any battle sight. In 4x mode, it offers a very generous field of view, a long eye relief, and the crystal-clear image that is typical of and legendary for ELCAN.

The reticle illumination can be adjusted depending on whether the shooter wants the crosshairs or just the red dot to be illuminated. The reticle is etched into the lens—another ELCAN hallmark—and is therefore always clearly visible, even in the event of a power loss due to a battery failure, etc.

The magnification is switched between 1x and 4x using the lever. The integrated mount is designed to comply with MIL-STD 1913 for Picatinny rails.

Starting in 2024, all Elcan 1x/4x optical sights will be shipped with a fixed Torprail and an ambidextrous adjustment lever.
