Wyss K31/JG11 Adjustable Bipod

The bipod from Wyss Waffen is a very simple, lightweight solution consisting of two parts—the bipod and the mounting plate. The mounting plate can be screwed into place at the sling swivel (typically on hunting rifles) or at the front of the wooden stock (e.g., on the Karabiner 31). It features a snap-lock mechanism into which the bipod is inserted. Thanks to this simple design, the bipod can be detached from the firearm without tools when not in use. The bipod has an adjustment range of 185 mm to 265 mm and can be individually adjusted for height and locked into place using a twist lock.

The simple design doesn’t exactly give the impression of being “battle-proven” or “built to last.” Nevertheless, the bipod has performed well so far and has held up just fine during normal shooting—we probably don’t need to mention the resulting increase in comfort when shooting from a prone position. Since the legs can move in both directions, the design quickly becomes unstable—especially during rapid target changes—and tips forward or backward. To be fair, it must be said that the Wyss Waffen bipod was designed for hunting and not for the “lie in the dirt” and “spray and pray” type of shooter! It’s a lightweight and simple solution for sight-in, relaxed target shooting, and as a stabilizer for slightly longer and more precise single shots.
