The next-generation PMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3 is a 30-round polymer magazine for AR-15/M4-compatible firearms chambered in 5.56x45 NATO / .223 Remington. In addition to enhanced features and compatibility, the GEN M3 incorporates new material technologies and manufacturing processes for improved strength, durability, and reliability that exceed strict military performance specifications.

While the GEN M3 is optimized for Colt-specific AR15/M4 platforms, its modified internal and external geometry also allows it to be used with a range of other firearms, such as the HK® 416/MR556A1/M27 IAR, the British SA-80, the FN® SCAR™ MK 16/16S, and others.

Similar to the MOE® PMAG, the GEN M3 features a durable, USGI-spec stainless steel spring, a four-way anti-tilt mechanism, a consistently curved internal geometry for reliable feeding, and simple, tool-free disassembly for easy cleaning.

The PMAG 30 GEN M3 also features a redesigned bolt catch notch at the rear of the magazine that increases the clearance for the bolt catch, while an over-travel stop on the magazine spine ensures that the magazine cannot be inserted too far into compatible firearms. Low-profile ribs and a new, aggressive texture on the front and back ensure good control of the GEN M3 in all environments. The magazine floorplate features a dot matrix pattern that allows for easy marking for identification. The new, easy-to-remove flared floorplate facilitates magazine extraction and handling while offering improved drop protection; however, it is slightly slimmer than before to ensure better compatibility with tight double and triple magazine pouches. An included pop-off impact/dust cover can be used optionally to minimize dirt ingress and protect the top round from potential damage during storage and transport.
