CellVault 2.0 Blocking

While the original DarkVault is designed as a versatile protective case for essential equipment, the DarkVault 2.0 Critical Gear Case was developed specifically for use with smartphones in demanding conditions.

The DarkVault 2.0 can be attached to plate carriers and chest rigs and allows for quick access to the smartphone, for example, for navigation, ballistic information, or mesh communication. The mount is designed for use with standard smartphone cases, so no bulky specialized case is required.

The viewing window allows the smartphone to remain operable and provides easy access to applications such as ATAK, iTAK, civTAK, or other software for use as an End-User Device (EUD).

The integrated mounting system is included in the package and requires approximately 4 MOLLE/PALS columns in width and about 3 inches (7.6 cm) in height, which corresponds to roughly three rows of webbing on a chest rig.

Blocking Version:

The Blocking version uses a special polymer construction that can reduce signal transmission by up to 110 dB. This makes the smartphone significantly harder to detect or access its data, even when it remains turned on.

Compared to a conventional Faraday bag, the DarkVault Blocking offers the advantage of being securely mounted to the gear and able to be opened or closed quickly.

Depending on the environment, devices in close proximity to powerful Wi-Fi routers as well as 5G or cellular antennas may still be able to connect to networks. As the distance from such signal sources increases, this possibility typically decreases significantly.

Bluetooth signals can still penetrate the case due to their higher frequency and limited range. This means that, for example, mesh antenna systems such as goTenna Pro and Otto Lynq Pro, as well as most headphones, can still be used.

Note: DarkVault and DarkVault Comms models are not designed for prolonged submersion or diving.

Velcro Accessory Pack:

Separate Velcro Accessory Packs are available for the DarkVault 2.0. Each pack contains two custom-cut loop Velcro panels that can be used to attach items such as ID patches, patches, or name tags to the DarkVault.
