The 6" glow stick is an affordable, battery-free light source. Each glow stick consists of a flexible plastic tube filled with two non-toxic chemicals; one of these chemicals is contained in a vial to ensure that the chemical reaction begins only when the glow stick is needed. To activate the glow stick, simply bend it and then shake it. This breaks the ampoule, causing the two chemicals to mix. The chemical reaction that begins produces a bright glow without any heat, flame, or sparks. No batteries or bulbs are required. Glow sticks have a wide range of uses, whether in operations, training, or outdoor activities.
