The Magpul DAKA Hard Case LR53 addresses many of the shortcomings of conventional hard-shell cases and offers a stronger, more user-friendly, and more reliable transport and storage system. Combined with the innovative DAKA GRID Organizer, it creates a high-quality solution that is optimally tailored to your gear, both inside and out. The case is sleek, easy to handle, and offers plenty of protective storage space. Advanced features include improved latches, recessed lock housings, ergonomic handles, and reliable wheels—all in a design that maximizes protection for your gear. Additionally, potential snagging points that often lead to damage have been eliminated, allowing the case to glide effortlessly over most surfaces.

Optimized Storage with the DAKA GRID Organizer

At the heart of the LR53 is the customizable DAKA GRID Organizer, which provides space for one or more long guns or shotguns, as well as additional accessories. Unlike traditional foam inserts, the DAKA GRID does not retain moisture, dirt, or other contaminants. It is lighter, customizable, and significantly sturdier, ensuring better organization and protection. The GRID Organizer consists of expanded polypropylene (EPP) elements that fit together to form an advanced interlocking system. The included DAKA blocks can be easily adjusted and reused. The LR53 comes with ten triple and ten double blocks; additional blocks are available as needed.

When transporting wider or taller equipment items such as lights, tripods, or lasers, a medium GRID panel can be trimmed or removed to make room for objects up to 10.8 cm (4.25 inches) wide. Even when trimmed, the EPP retains its strength and protective function.

Robust and Well-Thought-Out Construction

The rounded, double-walled corners of the DAKA Hard Case provide additional stability and minimize damage during transport. At the same time, they serve as shock absorbers and offer storage space for accessories. The waterproof and weather-resistant sealing ring protects against dust, moisture, and external influences, while a pressure-equalization valve ensures the safety of the contents. Injection molding technology ensures exceptional durability and protects the contents even during intensive use or shipping.

Improved Latches and Safety Features

The rugged latches feature a one-handed push-button mechanism and remain locked in the open position. A distinct “click” indicates that the latches are securely closed. Each latch includes a through-hole for a padlock (5/16” shackle thickness, 1–1.5” internal diameter recommended) as well as additional protective features such as cable tie passages. Four Velcro straps are included to provide additional security for locks.

User-Friendliness and Transport

The stacking tabs make it easy to stack multiple DAKA cases. Two integrated strap recesses securely hold tension straps in place. Three ergonomic handles, modeled after Magpul pistol grips, ensure comfortable handling. The wheels are durable and quiet, featuring ball bearings and a rubberized surface for smooth rolling.

Dimensions and Intended Use

With interior dimensions of 53.8 x 16.6 x 5.5 inches, the LR53 offers ample space for most shotguns and long guns.
